The Stuff I Love

My taste for music is all over the board.  I like all types of rock and metal, but my love for music dives much deeper into those genres.  With rock, i listen to just about everything.  I love classics such as Motley Crue, REO Speedwagon, and one of my personal favorites, Pink Floyd.  I also like modern rock such as Halestorm, HIM, and Volbeat.  Metal is where it's really at for me.  I will listen to and like just about any band, genre, or album you give me.  I enjoy a lot of melodic death metal, like Amon Amarth, Children of Bodom, and Carcass.  I also like black metal! Bands such as Behemoth and the smaller french outfit Svart Crown really kick it in gear for me in that genre.  Death metal, while not my main go-to genre, has its good bands, such as Decapitated, Repugnant, and Morbid Angel.
Outside of my love for dark and disturbing music, I also enjoy a bit of Ska.  For those of you who don't have a clue what Ska is, you better go get yourself familiar with it! The band that comes to mind for me and in all honesty, is the pinnacle band of the genre, is Reel Big Fish.  Their music is poppy, entertaining and all around fun.  It gives my mind a break from all the death growls, squealing guitar solo's and blast beats.
My tastes are all over the place and I enjoy many many different bands, albums and genres.  Metal as a whole is what keeps me sane on those crazy days where the world seems to be against you and everything sucks.  Below is a list of my favorite bands, in order.  By reading them, you can just tell how broad my listening spectrum is!

1. Ghost (Sweden) - These guys are doing something right in the music world and goddamn, do they do it good! Their blend between Satanism, '70's pop rock and doom metal is unlike anything you will ever hear, and the infectious state of the music is almost like a sickness (in a good way), taking over the body and slowly consuming you with their message!

2. Rammstein (Germany) - When you think of Industrial Metal, it would be hard to ignore Rammstein's influence on the genre as a whole.  With a stellar live show, a variety of hits across their career, and the fact that most songs are sung completely in German, how is it that someone cant enjoy their music!

3. Pink Floyd (England) - This should be quite self-explanatory due to the fact that if you look anywhere in the history of music, you're going to see Pink Floyd's name everywhere! They sort of pioneered the genre we know of today as progressive (whether that would be rock or metal), and they did a good job of doing it!

4. Cradle of Filth (England) - Damn, all European bands so far on my list! That has to say something about the music scene in America, right? Cradle of Filth, while they might not be too popular in the States, are a pretty big deal in Europe and the way they deal out their Extreme Symphonic Metal is unlike anyone out there.

5. Lamb Of God (USA) - Now if you want pounding riffs, lyrics with double meanings and depth to them, and some manly beards to accompany your music, you should be listening to Lamb of God (a.k.a LOG)! Their brand of metal (branded "Pure American Metal" by the band itself) is unlike anything you will hear, or have ever heard.  Its very energetic and crazy, but it also is some of the most beautiful metal music you'll ever listen to!
