Concept Albums

Concept albums have always been something that interests me.  I like writing and sometimes reading stories so when there is a story incorporated within music, especially rock or metal music.  Most of my favorite albums are concept albums! While bands can and do still have great albums without them being concept albums, putting a story to go along with your music just makes the music sound so much better and makes it connect with the listener so much more.  My favorite concept album of all time has to be Pink Floyd's The Wall.  I could listen to that album over and over again and each time hear something different, hear something that I didn't pick up on the last time I listened through it.  It has had a lasting effect on me since my first listen-through years ago.
All songs have a story that goes along with that specific song, no matter how vague or unrecognizable that story is.  Musicians can really hit a new level of success in their writing if they can tie those stories together throughout a whole album and bring that story full circle while telling a beautiful tale and playing some badass music!
