New music once again!

Last night I acquired more goodies for my collection! Once again, the forums off of metal-archives.com did me wonders and I wound up buying quite a few new albums.  Many of them I havent had the chance to listen to yet so I will post my thoughts about them over the next few days.  This is what I got:
Blind Guardian - Somewhere Far Beyond
Children of Bodom - Follow the Reaper
Darkthrone - Circle of Wagons
Emperor - IX Equilibrium
Ensiferium - From Afar
Morbid Angel - Gateways to Annihilation and Blessed Are The Sick
Watain - Lawless Darkness
Burzum - Burzum/Aske, Det Som Engang Var, Belus
Carcass - Heartwork, Swansong, Reek of Putrefaction
Powerman 5000 - Tonight the Stars Revolt!

I have been digging Ensiferium's 2012 release, Unsung Heroes lately, which is the reason I snagged From Afar.  Their blend of driving, powerful metal mixed with classical folk music is very refreshing.  They seamlessly blend harsh metal growls in with beautiful, harmonized clean vocals which fit hand in hand with each other.  While reading a little farther into Ensiferium, I saw the band Blind Guardian mentioned more than once, so after checking out some reviews, I decided it would be a wise choice to invest in Somewhere Far Beyond.  I have not listened to it yet, but the anticipation is burning!
Children of Bodom has to be my absolute favorite melodic death metal band.  I have loved their music ever since I first heard the title track off of Are You Dead Yet? and until this day, I can't get enough! While Follow the Reaper isn't my favorite release by them, I needed it to complete their discography!
Darkthrone is a band I was just recently introduced to by a friend of mine.  I borrowed the album Transylvanian Hunger from him and listened to it over and over! So when I had the chance to grab Circle of Wagons, I did it.  Unfortunately for me, I didn't do any homework on it and when i listened to it, i was surprised to hear a mix of punk and thrash metal being played by Darkthrone! I was extremely thrown off my guard, as I expected a kick ass black metal album.  I don't know how I feel about the album yet!
Emperor has rapidly become one of my favorite bands within a matter of weeks.  In the Nightside Eclipse is a beautiful piece of art and from what I heard, their sound only grew from there.  Im sure i will be pleasantly surprised by this album!
Morbid Angel has struck my death metal nerves lately.  While I am not the biggest old school death metal fan ever, I do love Morbid Angel and their entire catalog of records!
Watain is a band that I was turned on to through a small underground black/death metal band called Repugnant.  They play an eerily similar style of music and being such a fan of Repugnants one album, Epitome of Darkness, I had to give Lawless Darkness a listen!
Im going to be honest here and say that from all my years of listening to black metal, I never gave Burzum a chance.  I always thought his views and Ideology would get the best of his music but after finally giving it a shot, I am disappointed for only one reason, that i havent been listening to his music for longer!
Like i've said in recent posts, I just recently discovered Carcass through their newest record.  I gave a little bit of their back catalog a listen and loved it, so naturally, I had to buy more.
Now Powerman 5000 is definitely the odd one out in the group.  Tonight the Stars Revolt! is one of the first rock albums I ever started avidly listening to.  When the Worlds Collide is such a kick ass song to listen to when you're young and because of that, I had to secure this one for my collection! FYI, it still rocks like no other!
Ill give a little more in depth thought to a few of these albums within the next few days!
